Practice learning unseen media text. (CLAMPS).

2) Look at Question 3 in the assessment - the media analysis of the Under Armour advert.

Use CLAMPS to revise mise-en-scene and write about each element of CLAMPS for the Under Armour advert.

C - Costume: The player is wearing red and black rugby kit which has connotations of the logo.

L - Lighting: The stadium floodlights tell the audience that the person in the advert is a famous player who is training in the stadium.

A - Actor placement and movement: The rugby player is... The player's face suggests desire,anger and strength. 

M - Make up: The player's face is shining under the lights which makes it look like he is training so hard you could could see the sweat on his face.

P - Props: The tyre is significant because it is very heavy and the player was picking up the tyre which means that the prop( which is the tyre) is very significant because of the weight  of the tyre.

S - Setting: the stadium setting suggests to the audience that the player is training for his matches and is a rugby player because the stadium is also a rugby stadium.


3) Look at Question 4. What is Todorov's theory of equilibrium? How does it link to the Audrey Hepburn Galaxy advert? The villain is the food kart because it held up the traffic,The hero is the person who picked up thee princess who is AH.The person who donates is the bus driver.

4) What social class is Reveal aimed at? (Extension - what do the cover lines on Reveal suggest about what working class people are interested in?) Reveal is mainly for middle-class people who will read the magazine.

5) Pick three cover lines from Tatler that reflect upper class British culture and society. Explain what they suggest about the lifestyle and beliefs of upper class British people.

1) Who is Audrey Hepburn? Audrey Hepburn was a British actress and humanitarian .  2) Why did Galaxy select Audrey Hepburn for this advert? They selected her because it was  the year of her hit film Roman Holiday and the advert is set on the luxurious Italian Riviera just like the advert. 3) What are the connotations of Audrey Hepburn and celebrity in this advert? The connotation is that Aundrey Hepburn is the celebrity in this advert of Galaxy. 4) Why is the advert set in the 1950s? What audience pleasure does this provide?
